Miami

Miami is a seaside city, also known as "The Magic City", and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the southeastern part of Florida. Schools in Miami, FL

The city of Miami has one of the largest school districts in the country and the largest in the state of Florida. There are almost 400 public schools which children living in the city may be zoned for. There are also many magnet schools and private schools to choose from including denominational and non-denominational options. Some private schools include St. Agatha Catholic School, Gulliver Preparatory School, Miami Country Day School, and St. Hugh Catholic School. For continuing education, Miami offers 14 colleges and universities including the University of Miami and Florida International University. 

Miami Sports Teams

Sports are a huge part of the culture in Miami. There are four major sports teams in the city including the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League, Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball, Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association, and the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. Also prominent, are the sports team of the University of Miami Hurricanes and Florida International University Panthers. The major college sports followed in Miami are Hurricanes Football, Hurricanes Baseball, Hurricanes Basketball, along with Panthers Football. The Hurricanes football team plays at the Hardrock Stadium where the Miami Dolphins play as well. Also in Miami, is the Sony Ericsson Open for professional tennis players, Major League Soccer, Nascar Races held the Homestead-Miami Speedway and the Orange Bowl a college football championship game held annually. 

Miami Travel

Getting to and from Miami is extremely convenient with flowing roadways, major highways, and airports near the city. Miami International Airport sees the most travelers in Florida and is one of the busiest international airports in the United States. Fly to and from both North and South America, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe easily. Miami also offers plenty of public transportation including Tri-Rail, the Metrobus, Metromover, and Metrorail. Between all of the options for public transportation, you’ll be able to travel through all of Miami even upwards to West Palm Beach. Another avenue for travel is PortMiami, one of the largest ports in the world. It is not only one of the biggest cargo ports but it is the biggest cruise ship port seeing more than 3 million passengers every year.
